Newton Lake Trail is located on Quadra Island in the Discovery Islands of BC. This hike along the Small Inlet route begins as a fairly easy forest trail passing other lakes on the way to Newton Lake. Beyond, a more strenuous route follows an old prospectors' trail down to a promontory in Small Inlet, then links with an old portage route (which can be wet) to Waiatt Bay.

Follow Granite Bay Road north to within 200m of Granite Bay. Turn right onto a rough road and continue for 600m to a fork. Stay left for this trailhead. Allow 2 hours return to Newton Lake and 4½ hours return to Waiatt Bay.
